Baylis Medical Wins 2020 Employee Recommended Workplace Designation

TORONTO, FEBRUARY 20, 2020 – Baylis Medical is pleased to announce that it has won the Employee Recommended Workplace designation for 2020. The designation, which recognizes employers based on excellence in achieving a healthy, engaged and productive workforce, is based entirely on survey feedback from current employees.
The Employee Recommended Workplace designation is jointly awarded by The Globe and Mail and Morneau Shepell, who issue an independent survey to employees to evaluate four key aspects of their Total Health: physical, mental, work and life.
“We are thrilled to be recognized as an Employee Recommended Workplace, particularly because it is as a result of feedback from our employees,” said Deb Douma, Vice President of Human Resources at Baylis. “We are delighted to know that our programs and initiatives have had a strong impact on their health and wellness.”
In particular, employee survey results highlighted that its employees enjoyed strong work-life balance, take pride in working for the organization and feel respected by their manager. One key area of focus for the company this year will be supporting its employees to spend less time in sedentary activities, by running various internal fitness challenges.
Currently, Baylis supports its employees through various programs, from fitness and yoga classes held at its on-site gym, to providing employees a digital benefits experience that includes nutritional, financial and physical well-being resources. The company also makes significant investments in support of the mental well-being of employees, through an Employee Assistance Program, a mindful meditation app, and a Mental Health First Aid program, in which a number of employees become certified to support colleagues in the workplace.
