What’s it all about?

Baylis Medical Company is working in collaboration with Kids Can Free the Children to financially support the Hhashi School in the province of KwaZulu Natal, South Africa.

Since 2002 we have been raising money, first to build part of the school, then to install electricity. We have donated money to pay the enrolment fees for many of the children whose families could not afford to enroll them in school. In 2006, we raised money for the addition of a computer room to the school. We help to support the basic needs for running the school, improve the quality of education, and allow disadvantaged children the opportunity for an education. In return these children have sent us letters, drawings, poems, and more. These items give us a little view of life through their eyes.

Hhashi School is used by children aged 5-18 years old. As well, the school serves as a community center and for adult education in the evenings. Here, the seeds of education are being planted, and the children and community are being provided with the tools that they need to grow in both mind and spirit. They are given hope and possibility.

Kids Can Free the Children is an organization that was created in 1995 to combat child labour and exploitation. Since then, Kids Can Free the Children has grown to over 100,000 young members in 31 countries. It is an organization dedicated to children helping children and to empowering kids with the necessary skills to become leaders who can make a difference in their communities..
