Job Description The Regulatory & Scientific Affairs Associate assists the Manager, Regulatory and Scientific Affairs in maintaining regulatory compliance and managing the clinical trials with all Baylis Medical devices.

Essential Duties
& Responsibilities
The selected candidate will:
  • Assist in design, implementation and monitoring of clinical trials of Baylis Medical devices
  • Devise and write study protocols, investigator manuals, site specific instruction manuals and design case report forms
  • Assist in clinical trial activities when required. These may include assisting the investigator with IRB approvals, patient recruitment and follow up and co-ordination of clinical trial documentation
  • Prepare clinical reports and prepare scientific abstracts, posters and publications arising from the trials
  • Keep abreast of current clinical literature in field of pain management and related areas
  • Plan, organize, assemble and file medical device license applications and regulatory dossiers to Health Canada, FDA and EU Notified Body and to international distributors
  • Assist with regulatory compliance activities such as labeling reviews, submission of adverse event reports, maintaining internal documentation, etc.
  • Liaison and develop positive relationships with internal and external customers

Skills and Qualifications The candidate shall have:
  • Sound knowledge of GCP and ICH guidelines for clinical trials as well as Canadian, US, and EU regulations and guidelines for medical devices,
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer and Internet skills
  • Capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible; positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Willing to travel occasionally

Job Description The Materials Manager is responsible for the management and supervision of the staff and functions related to the planning, purchasing and inventory control of all materials and services required to support manufacturing operations in Mississauga.

Essential Duties
& Responsibilities
The candidate will:
  • Ensure that the materials and production planning, purchasing and inventory control functions are supporting the needs of sales, product development, customer service and production in a cost-effective and efficient manner.
  • Plan, organize, direct and support, monitor and control the staff and functions related to materials planning, purchasing and inventory control.
  • Continuously review and monitor performance to ensure corporate objectives are being met.
  • Assume primary responsibility for major purchases and expediting of critical materials.
  • Manage the supply chain, including materials and consumables suppliers and the logistics service providers to ensure supplier performance.
  • Identify any performance deficiencies and problems or opportunities for improvement in these areas of responsibility, and take initiative to solve the problems and realize the opportunities.
  • Identify specific cost reduction opportunities and take action to achieve cost reductions, or improve cost effectiveness, including introducing alternative sources where appropriate.
  • Assume primary responsibility to ensure that the Epicor Vantage MRP system adequately supports the functions of materials and production planning, purchasing and inventory control for manufacturing operations.
  • Work effectively in co-operation with the Production Manager to develop and maintain efficient planning and operations in production, warehousing and materials handling.

Skills and Qualifications The candidate shall have:
  • At least five years of demonstrated success in a manufacturing environment at a senior level of responsibility for purchasing, planning and inventory control.
  • Familiarity with the effective use of an MRP system in meeting those responsibilities.
  • A University degree in engineering and business disciplines.
  • Professional training (with certification or diplomas preferred) in the management principles and techniques related to manufacturing planning, purchasing and inventory control.
  • Strong communicator and negotiator in English with good leadership skills and notable achievements in the required areas of expertise.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel
